HAGG LAKE LOOP
ANNOUNCING SOON
This is a fun day!
You can expect to be out for about 5-6 hrs.
Henry Hagg Lake is a man-made lake about 5 miles SW of Forest Grove. Offering a beautiful 10.7 mile, two lane loop full of straights, sweepers and hills it is perfect for working on; looking through corners, maintenance throttle, braking, relaxing, breathing... It is also a good place to hone S.I.P.D.E. as there can be a lot going on, it is a very active site; bicyclist, joggers, boats, cars and the occasional wildlife. We do try to be out there before dusk to limit possible Deer encounters.
This route starts in Wilsonville, traveling on Wilsonville with the beautiful Willamette River to our left into Newberg , up to Bald Peak State Park for our first stop/group check in and bathroom break. Don't forget to relax and take in some vistas along the way...We'll point them out!

From there, we head down through Laurel to Gaston where we take our next stop/group check in and bathroom break at the Lake Stop Grocery.

After a lap or two around Hagg Lake, we head back to Wilsonville on hwy 47 to Yamhill, where we stop for a gas up, then we head east on the beautiful Hwy 240 to Newberg and then back to Wilsonville along Wilsonville Rd.

MINI-DRAGON
SUNDAY, JULY 20TH!!
You can expect to be out for about 4-5 hrs.
The Mini-Dragon Route is an abridged version of the Hagg Route. It has a lot of cornering for most of the ride. Have no fear though! It is mostly through residential roads that "feel" rural. Speed limits are respected (as always), no passing (as always).
If you need to work on getting comfortable with cornering, this is your route!! This route is really, really good for honing; body positioning, looking through those turns, throttle/brake management, S.I.P.D.E., relaxing, breathing and keeping those eyes up.
This route starts in Wilsonville, traveling on Wilsonville Rd with the beautiful Willamette River to our left, into Newberg. A brief ride through Newberg takes us up 219 to the Scholls Roundabout. Our 1st stop is at Petrich's General Store. From there, back down 219 to Bald Peak State Park for our 2nd stop/group check in and bathroom break. Don't forget to relax and take in some vistas along the way...We'll point them out!
From Bald Peak Park, we have options to continue if we'd like to extend the ride, ride back into Wilsonville, or even work on slow manuvers in the parking lot...we'll talk about that!
